ADD for Beginners

Press the arrow button next to Sound Packs to open the Manager.

• In the Manager, select the Sound Packs you’d like to install.
• Select your preferred Sound Pack location.
• Press “Install.”

Design

One of the most powerful parts of Audio Design Desk is its ability to place sounds in real time, while watching video.

You can place hits, rises, transitions and drones by pressing H,T, R and D. There are many other sound designtypes in the Triggers Menu.

• Select the timeline.
• Press H, T, R, and D.
• Press Return and Space to listen.

*Notice the sounds were placed based on their sync marker, not from the beginning of the file.

Replace

Part of the magic of Audio DesignDesk is in the power of replacement. When you’d like to try an alternate sound:

• Select region(s) in the timeline.
• Adjust your replacement settings to taste.
• Press  ​(⌘R).
• Your sounds have changed without losing sync!

Triggers

Sound sets can be performed by triggering them from the numbers on your QWERTY keyboard.

• Search for the sounds you’d like to trigger.
• Drag them into a trigger number.
• Press the number on your QWERTY keyboard.

Place

Sound effects can be searched, found and placed by pressing (⌥G) using the Magic Marker.

• Find the area where you’d like to place a sound effect.
• Press (⌥ G).
• Type in search terms or use the pulldowns and buttons to refine your selection.
• Audition sounds from the pool or press return to randomly place a sound in the timeline.

Import

To import sounds, open the Importer by pressing (⌘I).

• Drag sounds into the importer.
• Select your sounds and press “Guess Metadata.”
• Add or change data.
• Press “Import” or create a Sound Pack.
